Royal Hospital School

Our camp in Suffolk is hosted by the beautiful Royal Hospital School. The Royal Hospital School is an independent boarding and day school, set in 200 acres of Suffolk countryside overlooking the River Stour. The school has a rich naval tradition and is known to be one of East Anglia’s leading independent schools. ABC choose to deliver our programmes from this beautiful site as it has excellent facilities for sports including a sports hall and tennis courts, well equipped and spacious classrooms and all in beautiful grounds with stunning natural scenery.

Academic Programme

  • English Levels: Elementary (A2) - Advanced (C2).

  • Class Size: Maximum 20 students per class.

  • Number of hours tuition per week: 15 hours.

  • Placement test: Placement test on arrival.

In Royal Hospital School we operate a zig-zag programme, so lessons alternate between one week in the mornings and one week in the afternoons.

We occasionally receive requests from students outside our minimum/maximum age range who wish to join as part of a group. Each of these special requests is reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and a risk assessment is carried out to ensure it will not compromise the safeguarding and welfare of anyone in our centres. Final decisions are made by the Designated Safeguarding Lead, and the Admissions Team will inform the requesting party of the outcome.

All facilities are on the main campus, accommodation, catering and classrooms. There is a large sports hall available along with communal areas for activities. 

Computer Access 

WiFi is available throughout the campus, including the accommodation.

Laundry

Bedrooms are cleaned weekly including a change bed of linen. Additional laundry facilities are available from 08:00-22:30 daily. Laundry services operate using a pre-paid card and cost between £6 & £7 per wash/dry.

The activities, excursions, and entrances listed are based on a 14 night/15 day programme. Other durations of programme are available upon request. Optional trips and entrances are available. Additional charges will apply. Please speak to your sales rep for further details.
